Nairobi Central Business District (NCBD)

The NCBD is sandwiched between Uhuru Highway, Haile Selassie Avenue, Moi Avenue and University Way. Most businesses and companies are located within the NCBD. The city centre has a number of skyscrapers notably; Kenya International Conference Centre (KICC), Times Tower, I&M Bank Building, Cooperative Bank House, Afya Centre and Anniversary Towers. Top hotels in the vicinity include The Hilton, Sarova Stanley, Laico Regency, Six Eighty Hotel among others.

Recreational Public Parks

1. Uhuru Park is the most famous and it borders the NCBD and Upperhill area.

2. City Park is adjacent to Uhuru park.

3. Jeevanje Gardens is located at the heart of the city on Muindi Mbingu Avenue.

4. Bomb Blast Memorial Park is located next to Cooperative Bank House within the city centre, where the former US Embassy was housed.

5. Nairobi Arboretum.

6. Uhuru Gardens is a historic park located on Langata Road just past the Carnivore.

Nairobi Residential Areas

Nairobi Suburbs mirror the different classes of population within the city. From affluent estates such as Kitisuru and Lavington, to lower income estates such as Kangemi and Eastleigh (which is known as Kenya’s little Mogadishu), the city caters for all income groups.
